La Storia – Full Restoration Alfa Romeo 1900 C Super Sprint Touring

This Alfa Romeo 1900 C Super Sprint Touring, built in 1954, arrived with us in a sad state – partially disassembled, partly loose in boxes, partly damaged or unusable, and partly simply missing.

Nevertheless, it was a dream project: The Alfa Romeo 1900 C Super Sprint Touring-Superleggera is among the particularly rare and coveted post-war models. Only a few examples of the 2nd series of the Touring-Coupé were produced. Accordingly, the task was challenging: not only to restore this historic vehicle but also to recover its form, substance, and technical integrity with the utmost care.

The project "Capolavoro" (masterpiece) was born. Over the years, the bodywork was meticulously restored from the ground up. It was completely stripped of paint, carefully derusted, repaired, and then sustainably protected by KTL coating. Numerous areas had to be rebuilt, adapted, and precisely reconstructed in their original lines.

The entire technical area, from mechanics and electrics to wiring and numerous small parts, was thoroughly checked, overhauled, or rebuilt. Again and again, the project required patience and perseverance. Due to the low number of examples of this model, many parts were not to be found. The search for suitable details and rare individual parts became a challenging test of patience. Where no suitable components were available, custom-made parts were created with pure craftsmanship.

Each component was precisely fitted, checked, and integrated into the overall picture. What initially seemed like an almost unsolvable puzzle gradually became a complete, coherent, and exceptional vehicle - Un Capolovaro.

This project stands for exactly what a true full restoration embodies: patience, craftsmanship, a deep understanding of historic coachbuilding, and the willingness to create solutions even where it seems hopeless. Also, check out our videos.
